Shutting Down Globe
Elliot HespCEO @Invertase

In 2023 Invertase began developing Globe.dev to redefine the developer experience for server-side Dart. When it eventually launched in July 2023, it solved an unmet need for Flutter developers who wanted to build full-stack Dart applications. Since then, Globe has remained entirely free for the community, receiving constant updates and support.
For some time we’ve had the option to enable paid plans for Globe, and consistently decided against it. While we have a loyal and active user base, the volume of users and potential customers has remained below the level needed for Globe to become a self-sustaining, long-term product.
However, the landscape of full-stack Dart has changed a lot in three years. Today there are multiple options available to the community, and soon there will be one more.
As confirmed in the Flutter and Dart 2026 Roadmap, Firebase Functions will officially support Dart. Invertase has been fortunate enough to support the development of this, and we believe that for developers who relied on Globe for full-stack Dart development, Firebase Functions will now be the preferred choice.
With that, today we announce that Globe.dev will shut down in 30 days.
We are reaching out to all active users via email to ask that projects be migrated within this 30-day period. If you need support during the transition, please contact us at [email protected].
We want to extend a massive thank you to everyone who used Globe, provided feedback, and helped us shape the developer experience for full-stack Dart.
